Check out the videos on friction welding and friction stir welding. Super tech, no waste, disparate metals getting welded, all kinds of goodness.

I saw a demo of these many years ago at a trade show. A cordless wouldn’t work, but I think they said a decent drill press would be enough. It needs to run at higher rpm’s than a standard drill bit does, but that is about it for special requirements to run it.

They need higher rpm’s than a standard twist drill, but no unusual torque or pressure requirements.
